Summer Winter Low E Window Film from Film Pacific
Summer Winter 15 low e window film has been designed to aid architects and builders in creating buildings which comply with energy efficiency standards.
Summer Winter 15 lowers heat gain by up to 74% in summer and reduces indoor heat loss by up to 34% during winter when applied to the windows of a building.
The low e coating on Summer Winter 15 allows it to achieve a low U value of 3.97 during winter, helping minimise energy usage. Low e refers to the film’s low emissivity, which means that the film prevents much of a room’s radiant energy from absorbed by the window glass and being lost outside.
Summer Winter 15 also includes a metallised layer to dramatically reduce the amount of solar infrared radiation from entering through the window, with a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.21 for 6mm clear glass. Additionally, virtually all UV radiation is blocked and glare is reduced so interior objects are protected from fading.
Summer Winter 15 is especially suited to cooler climates such as Tasmania, Victoria, and cooler regions of Western Australia, South Australia and New South Wales.
The need for energy efficient building materials has become more apparent with the increase in energy efficiency standards such as the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme. A 5-star minimum standard is compulsory in most states, with many already on or moving towards a 6-star standard.
Film Pacific is one of Australia's most knowledgeable importers and distributors of solar control, security and decorative window film, with 37 years of experience in the industry.
